Have I mentioned how much I love traveling by train to places?
|
I know that Amtrak is not terribly well funded at the best of times here in the US of A, but I still prefer Amtrak over taking a bus (especially Greyhound). Ohio has been making improvements to bus transit, including having GoBus be an option (I may take a GoBus to Genghis Con this year rather than Amtrak, actually). But I still prefer falling asleep on a train over the bus. Plus, Amtrak, more often than not, has a dining car! It may not always have wifi, but the train travel is great for sight-seeing and catching up on reading from my hoard of books.

Oof, I might have to downsize my book collection for the move. Not the comics - I want to keep as many of those as possible! But the other books I have? I think I can rehome a few of them.

Speaking of the move, I don't have to do as much downsizing as I thought I did. On the one hand, that's good! On the other hand, it means I still have to rent a pretty sizeable moving van. It doesn't have to go far, because the new place is literally down the street and around the corner. But still. Then again, there are some things I need to rehome (besides doing a sale on my comics and art). Like, I don't need the dining set. Like other Midwest homes, the dining room table is not where I eat, but rather a receptacle for rogue paperwork to migrate and park itself. So, some of the furniture can go. I'm going to have a house party with friends and neighbors to try to rehome those particular things.

As much as possible, I want to start at my new place with as clean of a slate as possible. No holdovers from when Kai lived with me (because they took some of my stuff but also left some of their stuff). No crap I don't use. And I want to have some space for a new cat. I'll talk about her next week.

I have club rewards mailed out for this month! For mail club purposes, I only sent out mini-prints and stickers. No new physical zine this month.
