PAGE 318 Panel 1: Basho bends down and wraps his arms around Norsa's middle and legs to hoist her up. Panel 2: As Basho carries Norsa down the stairs, she runs her fingers through his hair, saying, "Hold on, your hair is a mess." Panel 3: At the bottom of the stairs, Basho sets her down on her feet and he says, "So is yours." Panel 4: Basho brushes his fingers through Norsa's hair. Panel 5: The two look at each other and each says, "Better." Panel 6: The two turn towards an open archway as Norsa says, "Now, let's see what's going on." Panel 7: A narrow map shows the layout of the Dogona palace. Rather than cutting in front through the Great Hall/Throne Room, or even through the center garden, the pair go through the back hallways to enter the kitchen. Panel 8: Basho and Norsa pull back the room curtains and are startled at what they see.

VANITA AND THE DEMON KING

PAGE 98 Panel 1: Close up on Charlie's phone. Her text has a laughing-crying emoji and says, "All good, hun. What's the rare book?" Panel 2: PING! Vanita's text comes in, saying, "It's about Demonology." Panel 3: Wide panel. Clow on the left throws his arms in the air and shouts, "CALLED IT!" Charlie rests her hand on her chin, saying aloud, "Sound like she knows about the demon thing in her house already." Panel 4: Wide panel, close up on Charlie's vexed face as she texts back. She says aloud, "I REALLY hope she's trying to get RID of something - NOT summon more." Panel 5: Wide panel, medium close-up on Jared. As he crochets, he says, "You said she was Mawit, right? She's probably trying to get rid of it. Only dumb white Dicks summon demons."

Aha! I scheduled this ahead of time! (Twirls mustache like Snidely Whiplash)

Anyway, yes, I had to schedule this ahead of time because a) A2CAF just wrapped up, and yet b) today I'm heading to one of my day jobs to help renovate an office space.

It may sound like I'm not taking time off, but I actually am. Believe it or not.

A large part of that is because of MehtMeht. She moved in the week before last, and apparently she does not believe in sleeping in past 6 am. So because of that, I've been going to bed early...and then getting up early. I used to have this sleep schedule years ago, but fell out of the habit, so I'm slowly coming back to it.

Look at that face. That is the face of a house goblin that demands paté at 5:45 every morning, no matter what time I go to bed the night before. No remorse whatsoever.

I will say, since getting back into the whole "early to bed, early to rise" routine, I've been deliberately ending my work day earlier. That way I can have the evening to have dinner, play with MehtMeht, and relax. (Which, lately, has been looking like indulging in a quilting project that's been an off-and-on work in progress).

Also, weirdly, I've been circling back to projects I've put on the back burners. Things like: recording stuff for YouTube. A NSFW comic I'm calling The Witch & Her Demon. The Little Caticorn and starting production on that. And even starting a new short featuring Ranki and a mysterious new character from the past.

I'm also getting back to zines! More on that in a second.

CLUB REWARDS

The one you just got - The Little Caticorn (Sketches) - is my most recent experiment. I'm thinking about doing more! (It would also give me an excuse to draw in my sketchbooks again, because these zines would be sketches straight from my sketchbooks). Let me know if you like this!
