Today, I bring you a status update on all the dang works in progress!
The Legend of Jamie Roberts - self-explanatory. It's still updating weekly on Wednesdays. BUT! I'm thinking the next hiatus between Chapter 13 and 14 will be longer than 2 weeks. Just to give me time to script ahead and do edits as needed. We'll see how it falls in the year.
Vanita and the Demon King - now that the initial hiatus is wrapped up, we're back to weekly updates. That said - I might pull a trick from Lan of the webcomic The Titan. Lan has several chapters worth of backlog in the can. And there's a part of me that's like, "...If I play my cards right, I bet I could finish producing pages of Vanita and the Demon King before the end of the year." I'll have to do some math and look at the calendar, and see how feasible that is.
The Little Caticorn - ssh! Don't tell, but I've been scripting this at the day job when no one's been looking. The script is finished! Character concepts are solid - now I want to sketch some environment designs. Some of the locales in this story are going to be Fantasy as Fuck.
A Viking Mercenary's - actually, I'm now calling this The Fantastical Adventures of a Viking Mercenary. The previous title was too long but not fun enough. Anyway, concept art is concepting. I also picked up a book of chimeras while at PIE, and that book is giving me ideas for fantasy critters the characters come across in the world. So, there may be an abundance of monsters in this book. We'll see how it shakes out in the script!
Toe Beans Task Force - it's scripted! And I pitched it to an anthology themed around Kaiju. (The twist in this story is: the main characters are witchy kitties and crows, and the kaiju is a human.) And if it's not accepted (unlikely, but still), I'll just make this as a short! Eventually.
The Witch and Her Demon - This was effectively shelved while Life kept Life-ing. I'm hoping to actually start drawing pages sometime in July or August. October at the latest. Once it's ready for sharing online, it's going up on the Red Light District. It will be the first regularly updating webcomic on that site, rather than a single-time download.
5 Times Jamie and Thomas Almost Kissed - I stopped working on this because at the time, there was no way it was going to get done in time for the itch jam it was intended for. It's going to stay on the shelf for a while as I work on other comics. I'll resume production on it the closer we get to the launch of The Legend of Jamie Roberts, volume 4.

Time for one of my favorites from CATS: The Sketchbook...

Seriously, I love her energy.

For zines, I have a new work in progress, and it's going to be part of an ongoing zine series!
Car-Free in America: An Artist's Travelogue is going to be at least 3 issues about my life in Toledo, OH as a car-free person. Issues will have short stories, tips and tricks, sketches, and more! This is something I've been wanting to make for a little while. It's something to share to advocate for folks like me, who choose not to own a car in a car-crazy culture.
Still a work in progress, but I'm hoping to have the first issue done before the end of the month.
AS A HEADS UP: For May, rewards will be sent in the first part of the month. Because the second half of May is when I move to my new apartment.
