The Value of Time

THE LEGEND OF JAMIE ROBERTS
VANITA AND THE DEMON KING
I keep stacking events back-to-back and I need to stop doing that to myself.

Just in the last 48 hours, there's been moving shenanigans, and then the day after the big move, I coordinated a service with my local UU church AND ran a quilting workshop. And I still have stuff to unpack and comics I gotta make to stay on schedule.

Why does brain keep wanting to put things on my plate when my plate is already full? I don't know. It's enough to make me revisit my current work flow/schedule and maybe discontinue some things just so I can actually take breaks. I gave a panel a few weeks ago about the importance of rest - it's about time I practiced what I preach.

Well, today I'm getting a massage. I booked it a few weeks ago because I was like, "Oh I know that after moving weekend I will definitely need it." So that's at least a step in the right direction.

After that? Well, there's a lot that's still TBD.

Like, I'm toying with what it might look like to have The Legend of Jamie Roberts on hiatus after Chapter 13, to focus on finishing Vanita and the Demon King. Or even what it might look like to...hire an assistant. Though, what an assistant would do is something I have yet to figure out. I've never worked with one. But I'm considering it.

Mostly I'm considering these ideas because I'm realizing how precious my time is. Not in like a "my time is more valuable" way, but in like a "I'm working so many jobs to make ends meet, how can I make it work while still allowing for time off?" It's a puzzler. One I'll be pondering for a bit.

Maybe I'm overthinking it and maybe this is all just temporary. Wouldn't be the first time (freaking anxiety brain). But I'm going to take today off. See if that helps.

That's all for now...
