So About that Guest Art Print...

For the first time in a KickStarter campaign, I have guest art available as an add-on reward!
|
I knew I wanted to work with Junior, aka Vigoburrito, because I love how they draw big, buff dudes. Have you seen how they draw Ganondorf?! I have some of their Ganondorf prints on my walls. (Check out their Ko-fi gallery to see some of that!)

So I knew I wanted to get Vigoburrito to draw Basho/Ranki, and I wanted to give them full creative freedom to draw whatever they wanted. I’m so glad I gave them that free reign, because I could not have prepared for this beauty that they gave me!
|
We made an arrangement regarding this print: I paid them for their work (the funds for that were set aside WAY before the last few months of whackery). But I paid them so that any and all funds raised from the sale of this print during the KickStarter would go towards the print run of volume 3.
|
After the campaign, Junior has the right to make prints and take this beauty to conventions and keep the sales they make from it. If/when I make prints for my own convention appearances, I’m going to reserve a cut of sales for them, almost like a consignment fee, until the end of this year. I’ll revisit the arrangement after my last show of 2025 wraps up.

But why bring a guest artist in? Well, I love Junior’s work and I want to support it! Also, I wanted to try something different in this campaign and see how it goes.

In other news - I’m going to give the heads up about this now, even though it won’t go into effect until next month – An Ignorance of Romance will be going back on hiatus once page 17 of it posts.
|
This is because the week it goes up, I’m going to start my new day job. And I know my own limits – I won’t have the time or energy to do THREE webcomics, paid work, and a full-time job and still be able to take care of myself.
|
So, An Ignorance of Romance will be the first to take a break. Which is fine, because whenever I can get to it, I can script more pages in advance. (Most likely that’ll happen while I’m waiting for the bus for the day job or something, lol).

Look, it turns out that Monster Prom and Monster Camp have an aesthetic that’s like second nature for me to draw. Will there be even more Monster Prom/Camp art shenanigans? Who’s to say?
