I've been thinking about putting The Legend of Jamie Roberts on a longer-than-usual hiatus once chapter 13 ends.
|
Usually I just do a 2-to-3-week break between chapters, so that I have time to build up backlog again, script ahead, and generally prepare for the next part of the story.
|
But uh...There have been some major rewrites for this next part, and not all of them have been put to paper yet. Mostly because I've been too busy getting a day job, working that day job, moving house, etc etc.

The good news is: the day job will give me an 8-week break this summer. The bad news is: I was told it was going to be August-September but I haven't gotten the work schedule for July yet. So it might be July-August? I have no idea.

Anyway, I plan on taking that 8-week window to really nail down some scripts for The Legend of Jamie Roberts' next two to three chapters. I want to have a backlog of at least 3 chapters before I start actually drawing final pages for Chapter 14.

That is, as long as I'm not distracted by the other comic scripts that are calling my attention. (I'm looking at you, Viking Mercenary's Guide and Talu: Ranki's Favorite.)

But yes! Lots of comics to get scripts for, but not a ton of time to get them done. That's why I'm considering a hiatus. Or two (as in, also putting Vanita and the Demon King on hiatus. But that comic has had so many of them already! And it's over halfway done. I might as well stick the course and finish the dang thing).

I'll draft a timeline of events and production and figure out what makes the most sense behind-the-scenes. But wanted to give you an update on how things are going, regardless.

After looking at the feedback (and also chatting with some of you in DMs and emails), it sounds like folks are jazzed about the Art Club getting art zines! Which is great, because it gives me an excuse to make more art zines!

I actually have one in the works, and two more lined up with prompts ready to start.

The in-progress one: Dragon Men. (There will be a safe for work and NSFW version of this one).

The prompts waiting to be art zines: Sorcerers, and Cat Drag Queens. (These will be safe for work unless the sorcerers get cantankerous).

I may need a little more time for the Dragon Men zine, so I'm thinking of putting together an art zine of past mini-print illustrations... Unless I can get the Dragon Men art zine done by July 15. Hm...
